about us

Hi I'm Simone

I’m Simone Starr, a Registered Occupational Therapist & Infant Development Specialist, guiding mothers and their children through the early years with a blend of  relationship-centered parenting, child development education, and nervous system support.

I have spent my whole life playing, learning, and working on the unceded territory of Coast Salish Peoples, currently in the area now known as Vancouver Island. I come from Chinese-Singaporean and Dutch lineages—two cultures that have shaped who I am in ways both seen and unseen. My mother passed away when I was very young. Unpacking the grief and trauma from this experience has been my life's journey and continues to source inspiration for the work I do.

I have a wonderful partner, one daughter, and one son. My most trusted confidant is my identical twin sister who is raising her family alongside me.

I’ve spent over two decades working with parents and children, with 10+ years in clinical pediatrics. My journey has taken me through some of life’s most challenging spaces: the neonatal intensive care unit, the foster care system, psych wards, and families navigating medical diagnoses. In each of these environments, I’ve witnessed the profound, life-altering transformations that parenthood can bring.

As I’ve honed my practice, I’ve intentionally woven together both clinical expertise and a holistic perspective, offering a grounded approach to supporting the growth and development of mothers and their children.

My Approach

My approach to working with parents is rooted in empowering guidance and deep listening. I believe in meeting each family where they are, honouring their unique journey, and walking alongside them with empathy and respect.

I see the importance of holistic support—not just supporting the child, but for the mother and the family as a whole. My work blends my clinical background with my skills in nervous system regulation, attachment-based practices, and group facilitation. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where both healing and growth can unfold naturally.

Every family’s path is unique, and my commitment is to provide the support and tools that help parents feel more grounded, confident, and connected in their role.

core values

True well-being begins in relationships. We nurture secure attachment, presence, and community, creating spaces where both mothers and children feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow together.

Rooted in Connection

1

Growth happens when we embrace honesty, vulnerability, and imperfection. By showing up as our true selves, we foster trust, deepen relationships, and create space for transformation.

Live Authentically

2

Life moves in cycles—within nature, our bodies, and our children’s development. We embrace these rhythms, allowing for rest, renewal, and aligned growth, supporting the nervous system’s natural regulation.

Honour the Rhythms

3

Healing starts from within. We prioritize sensory regulation and body awareness, guiding both mother and child toward balance, resilience, and well-being by listening to and trusting the body’s signals.

Trust the Body

4

Play is a pathway to connection, healing, and regulation at every stage of life. Through movement, creativity, and imagination, children build resilience and emotional security, while adults reconnect with joy, spontaneity, and stress relief. Engaging in play—both alone and with your child—restores balance and deepens relationships.
